About This Project
A client’s WordPress website was running on an outdated PHP version, which was triggering a critical PHP version warning inside the WordPress admin dashboard. Outdated PHP versions are a serious concern — they are no longer supported with security patches, can cause compatibility issues with modern plugins and themes, and significantly impact the overall performance and speed of the website.
I identified the exact PHP version running on the server via the WordPress Site Health tool and cPanel. I then carefully upgraded PHP to version 8.1 through the hosting panel. Before and after the upgrade, I checked all installed plugins and themes for compatibility to ensure nothing would break. After the upgrade, I cleared the website cache completely and ran a full site health check. The outdated PHP warning was gone, the site loaded faster, and everything was running smoothly without any plugin or theme conflicts.
